Julia's Choir Concert

Becasue Julia is now in third grade, she got to join the school choir this year. It has been a blast for her...although not so much for me because every Wednesday she has to go to school an hour early and I always have to get the boys out of bed to get her there. Oh well, it's worth it. Because Julia has problems with her motor skills, she's never taken dance, or piano, or played a sport. But choir is something she can do. So this was the first real performance of any kind she's ever had -- and she absolutely LOVED it. She was so excited! They did a really good job and it was fun to go see her. For anyone looking hard to find her in this picture, she's on the front row, close to the middle, on the right of the girl in the red (you know, the shortest one).

Julia's Best Friend Ashlyn

We went to the Ogden-Eccles dinosaur park a few weeks ago with our next door neighbors, the Clarks. This is Julia and Ashlyn. They are best friends and love to hang around together.

Julia's new (well kind of) bike...

Julia has been very excited because she got an addition to her bike. It made it into a three-wheeled version and gives her a lot more stability. She thinks she's pretty cool. It's been really good, because training wheels just weren't stable enough. Besides, how many people have a cool bike like this??

Julia Joined the School Choir

Julia is in third grade this year, so she gets to be in the school choir. She has been loving it and is so excited about their performance in December. She really gets a kick out of the fact that they're already learning Christmas songs.

Shawn and I are really excited about this opportunity for her. Since she can't really play a sport, take a dance class, or play a musical instrument, this gives her an extra-curricular activity that she can participate in -- and that she loves!!!

I'm Nine!!!

Julia's birthday was yesterday, September 7th. She turned nine years old and I can hardly believe it. I remember the day she was born and how scary it was, and how (really, truly) she almost didn't survive the first 45 minutes. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is the sweetest person I know.

This is the only picture we took on her birthday (smacks head), because we were busy videotaping. Maybe I'll figure out how to download some to the computer and post it here later.

She had a great birthday and got an iPod shuffle, a Hannah Montana CD, and some clothes (what girl doesn't want clothes?).

Julia's Grandpa Lambert gave her a camera...

Julia's Grandpa Lambert had an old digital camera that he didn't need anymore, so he gave it to Julia. She's been the little photographer ever since. Here are some of the pictures she's taken over the past week or so.

I'm in third grade!!!

I can't believe it, but Julia is now in third grade. Here is a cute picture of her before school.

I love Lake Powell

Here are a few pictures of Julia in Lake Powell. She had tons of fun and even learned to swim better in her life jacket by the end of the trip. She loved going on the wave runners and being pulled in the tube. She's excited to go again next year.

What I wouldn't say for a snow cone

We have one of those snow shack things by our house. Julia always wants one. It's like her favorite thing. Well, on Saturday we were driving home and right before we drove past the snow shack, she asked if we could go. We said 'no.' It was too late, the kids needed a bath, you know. And then Julia says: "But my tummy says, (and this next part was in a different voice) 'I want a snow cone.'"

Shawn and I laughed so hard. And yes, we stopped to get everyone a snow cone.
